My passion for sharing Italian food and culture has obviously grown exponentially since meeting my Italian (now) husband in 2019 and then moving to Bologna this year! I was beyond excited to hear about the 7th annual Los Angeles Week of Italian Cuisine and that it’s being held while I am in town. The theme of this year’s events is “Conviviality, sustainability and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine for people’s health and the protection of the planet” – running the week of November 14th to the 20th 2022. Note: the photos above are from past classes at Eataly La Scuola!
“With more than 8,000 events organized in over 100 countries in the last 6 editions, the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World has established itself as one of the flagship initiatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to promote the best of the “Made in Italy” brand abroad, with a particular focus on the Italian agri-food chain...Celebrate the week with in-person culinary events all over the city. From Pizza Masterclasses to wine tastings, it will be a chance for the Angelenos to deep dive into the extraordinary Italian culinary culture, starting a positive debate around how to fight food waste, promote sustainability and protect the planet.”
Organized by: The Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and Sistema Italia (ITA, IIC), in collaboration with Accademia Italiana Cucina (AIC), the Gastronomical Sciences University of Pollenzo, Eataly LA, IMPASTIAMO, Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano, Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, Fondazione Valter Longo, Creating Cures Foundation, ITTV Forum & Festival and Casa Modena.
One of the collaborators of the events is IMPASTIAMO – founded in the spring of 2020 by Silvia Carluccio (formerly at Live Nation Entertainment). She set out to pair a love of food and music – a consistent theme in all of the cooking class experiences. I got acquainted with them during the pandemic, when I got to take part in some of their online cooking classes. Their chefs still host online courses from all over the world, but also have integrated a bunch of in person classes as well. They are hosting a couple of the upcoming masterclasses, detailed below!
